Golf One & Done Is Live on Splash!
One & Done is live on Splash! Here's how to play and win all golf season long.
Golf One & Done is live on Splash Sports! We're kicking off the format just in time for the 2024 PGA Tour Season kickoff with the Sentry Tournament of Champions on January 4th. Let's go over what the format is, how to play, and how to win cash all PGA Tour season long.
The One & Done Format
One & Done is a unique fantasy golf format that adds an exciting layer of strategy to every tournament. Unlike traditional fantasy golf, where you build a new team of golfers for each tournament, One & Done challenges you to pick one (or more) golfer for each tournament you select. Your points are determined by how much money your chosen golfer earns during that specific tournament. But here's the twist: once you use a golfer, you lose the opportunity to select them again throughout the contest.
Customization Galore for Commissioners
One of the standout features of One & Done is the level of customization it offers to contest commissioners. You can tailor your contest to your liking, including choosing the tournaments you want to include, specifying how many golfers participants will pick per tournament (ranging from 1 to 5), and setting a Golfer Use Limit. The Golfer Use Limit determines how many times participants can select a particular golfer during the contest, with options like "Once," "Twice," or "Unlimited."
Selecting Golfers Without Restrictions
In One & Done, there are no restrictions on your golfer selections. Unlike some other fantasy formats that categorize golfers into salary cap limits, One & Done offers complete freedom. Every golfer in the field will be available for selection, and you can choose between 1 to 5 golfers for each tournament included in your contest depending on your contest settings.
Player Use Limit: A New Twist
Adding an exciting twist reminiscent of Survivor, One & Done incorporates a Player Use Limit. Commissioners can set this limit when creating their contests. If your contest has a Player Use Limit of "Once," you can only select each golfer once throughout the entire contest. This adds an extra layer of strategy to each tournament! Don't waste the big guns like Scottie Scheffler or Rory McIlroy on a tournament with a smaller purse when you can save them for a Major tournament and earn more dollar winnings.
Dollar Winnings Scoring: A New Scoring System
Unlike traditional Tiers contests, One & Done introduces the Dollar Winnings Scoring system. Entrants select golfers for each tournament and earn points based on the dollar winnings of their chosen golfers. What's more, commissioners can apply multipliers (1.25x or 1.5x) or reverse multipliers (0.25x or 0.5x) for prestigious events like The PLAYERS Championship, The Masters, The US Open, The Open Championship, and The Tour Championship. This scoring system adds a dynamic element to the game, making each tournament more exciting.
Payout Segments: Coming Soon
Looking for even more chances to win cash prizes? Splash is set to introduce Payout Segments by the end of January. These segments will allow contest entrants to win multiple times within a single contest. Commissioners can choose to break their contest's schedule into segments, each with its own payouts. Additionally, for contests with fewer tournaments (e.g., The Majors Only), commissioners can enable "Tournament Payouts" to reward the highest-scoring entries for each tournament, as well as the overall contest winner. This feature promises to keep participants engaged throughout the contest, regardless of their early performance.
