NFL Week 9 Tiers Picks

Fantasy Alarm is proud to bring you insight and advice for playing Splash Sports tiers contest for Week 9 of the NFL season. The rules are quite simple, each tier consists of 10 players for Week 9. You as the competitor are picking one player from each of the tiers to roster on your squad for the week. Each player accumulates fantasy points for their performance in the game. Whichever player has the most fantasy points at the end of the contest wins.

Tiers Contest Scoring

• 4 points per passing TD
• 1 point per 25 passing yards
• 3 points for a 300+ Yard Passing Game
• -1 point per interception
• 6 points per rushing touchdown
• 1 point per 10 rushing yards
• 3 points for a 100+ Yard Rushing Game
• 6 points per receiving touchdown
• 1 point per 10 receiving yards
• 3 points for a 100+ Yard Receiving Game
• 6 points per Punt/Kickoff/FG Return for TD
• -1 points per lost fumble
• 1 point per reception

Pick: Alvin Kamara, NO - Exceptional matchup against the Chicago Bears on tap. Kamara is a dual threat with his elite pass catching skills and largely unchallenged role out of the team’s backfield. The downside here is the team’s usage of Taysom Hill in the red zone but from a volume standpoint nobody touches the ball more on this offense than Kamara.

Pick: Derek Carr, NO - While Carr isn’t the biggest name in this tier, it’s also hard to ignore the fact that he has three straight games of over 300 yards passing and now draws the Chicago Bears who boast one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. A multi-touchdown game feels in the cards this week.

Pick: Saquon Barkley, NYG - This tier isn’t great so I’ll take the player with some nice upside with a good matchup. We just saw the Raiders flip their organization overnight so there could be some stuff still moving around there that could lead to Barkley taking advantage of this matchup.

Pick: Breece Hall, NYJ - Hall continues to be a big play machine for the Jets offense and now this week he goes up against one of the league's worst run defenses. For the Jets to stay competitive in this game against the Chargers they need to control the clock and keep the Chargers offense off the field and they can do that with a heavy dose of Breece Hall.

Pick: Garrett Wilson, NYJ - As bad as the Chargers are against the run they are also bad against the pass. If this game turns into one where the Jets are forced to throw the football then Wilson should see double-digit targets go his way in a spot where he can really take advantage of them.

Pick: Mike Evans, TB - Big spot for Evans here who continues to produce in Tampa Bay with Baker Mayfield at QB. His big play upside makes him an appealing option for the last tier, especially given the other options here on the board. If you wanted to pivot to Michael Thomas, I could see that as a pretty viable play as well given the love for Derek Carr this week.
