Our Biggest Football Season Yet: What’s Coming to Splash Sports for the 2024-25 Season
As the 2024-25 NFL and college football seasons approach, Splash Sports is gearing up to bring you an enhanced experience with a suite of new gameplay settings and community enhancement features. Whether you're a seasoned player, a first-time Splasher, or a veteran Commissioner, these updates are designed to make your contests more engaging, competitive, and fun. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming your way.
Gameplay Enhancements Coming to Splash Sports
Season-Long NCAAF Contests
College football fans, we heard you. Season-long NCAAF contests are coming soon ahead of this college football season! Create NCAAF Pick X and NCAAF Survivor contests, and customize them to include games from any of the Major Conferences or only the Top 25 ranked teams each week. Saturdays just got more competitive.
Against the Spread (ATS)
Starting this season, NFL and NCAAF Pick X contests can be played using the Against the Spread (ATS) setting. But what does ATS mean? In simple terms, instead of just picking a team to win, contest participants must choose a team to cover the point spread. In each matchup, both teams are assigned a point spread. For example, a matchup between the Chiefs and the Bengals may have a spread of Chiefs -2.5 and Bengals +2.5. If you pick the Chiefs in a contest with the ATS setting turned on, they need to cover that point spread (win by 3 or more points) for your selection to be correct. If you pick the Bengals in this scenario, they can either lose by 2 or fewer points or win the game outright for your selection to be correct. This adds an extra layer of strategy and excitement, as you’ll need to consider not just who will win (or lose), but by how much.
Confidence Points
We're introducing Confidence Points for NFL and NCAAF Pick X contests. This setting allows you to assign a confidence value to all of your picks, indicating how confident you are about the outcome. The higher the confidence points you assign, the more points you can earn if your pick is correct. For example, if you’re confident that the Ravens will win in a matchup against the Giants, you might assign them 16 confidence points. If they win, you earn 16 points. This setting can also be combined with the ATS setting for an even more challenging contest.
NFL One & Done
We’re adding the NFL One & Done format, where you draft a roster of players each week, but once you use them, you can’t use them again for the rest of the contest. First introduced in our PGA games on Splash Sports, One & Done combines the excitement of a Tiers fantasy feel with an element of our flagship game, Survivor. Throughout your contest, you’ll need to weigh the pros and cons of using players for certain matchups or saving them for more favorable ones. With enhanced availability reports and player stats on the Splash Sports app, we’ve made it easy for you to dominate your One & Done contests. This year, we’ll offer two different scoring settings, traditional Fantasy Points and the new Touchdowns scoring system, making NFL One & Done an exciting twist on traditional fantasy football.
Revivals and Additional Lives for Survivor Contests
For those participating in NFL and NCAAF Survivor contests, we’re introducing Revivals and Additional Lives. Commissioners will be able to give participants up to two additional lives, allowing for a certain number of losses without being eliminated from the contest. Additionally, Revivals will let participants continue if all remaining participants are eliminated in the same week, ensuring the contest continues until there’s a clear winner.
Community Enhancement Features
Channels on Splash Sports
Our new channels foundation allows you to find and follow your friends on Splash Sports. Use channels to communicate, invite friends to contests, and see what contests others are playing in. It’s never been easier to stay connected and engage with your community.
Mass Communication for Commissioners
We’ve made it seamless for Commissioners to keep in touch with their contest participants. With our new mass communication tools coming this summer, sending a message to everyone in your contest is just a few taps away, ensuring everyone stays informed and engaged throughout your contests.
Invites Manager
Our new invites manager simplifies the process of inviting friends to your contests. Commissioners will be able to easily invite friends from previous contests, channel followers, and even sync their address book to invite non-Splash Sports users.
