What the Pick Data Says About Week 14
The Thanksgiving slate has come and gone and we’re into the witching hour of the NFL season. The Chiefs and Bills have already (!) clinched a spot in the playoffs, but the rest of the league is fairly wide open outside of a few tanking teams. There are picks to be made across the board for remaining Survivors, weekly Pick’Em contests, and QuickPicks entries. Let’s look at where the public is leaning in their contests.
QuickPicks Trends
The Lions and Packers go from Thanksgiving football back to regular TNF this week, as the division rivals are set to clash in Detroit. Luckily, the weather won’t be a factor for either team in this game, as we saw how difficult it was for Miami to adjust to the weather in Green Bay last week. Checking out the QuickPicks projections for this matchup, there are two that stand out. David Montgomery is known as a bruiser in the running game, but he’s been on a tear catching the ball recently. His receiving yards projection is currently set at 13.5 yards, which he’s smashed in all of his last five games. The Lions love to use Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs as much as they can, so this projection is one to keep an eye on in your TNF entries.
On Green Bay’s side of the ball, Josh Jacobs is a player to watch. His rushing projection is set at 66.5 yards, which he’s gone over in four of his last five matchups. While the Lions are a challenging defense to run against, the Packers won’t want to become one-dimensional and leave the game in Jordan Love’s hands, making Jacobs a player to watch.
Fly Eagles, Fly
The Philadelphia Eagles are on a roll. They haven’t lost a game since September 29th and are the current 2 seed in the NFC. They head back home to Philadelphia after a tough road win against the Ravens to host the Panthers in Week 14. While Bryce Young and the Panthers have been playing much better as of late, we don’t judge the public for taking the Eagles at home. Currently, the Eagles have 27% of Splash users backing them in Survivor contests, good for the most-picked team in Week 14.
AFC West Battle
The Chiefs clinched their spot in the playoffs, but every divisional game matters in the NFL. The Chargers travel to Arrowhead Stadium this week for Sunday Night Football, setting the stage for a classic AFC West showdown. Splash pickers either aren’t impressed with what they’ve seen from the Chargers recently or they’re fully confident in the Chiefs getting the job done, as only 37% of pickers are backing the Chargers on the road to cover against the Chiefs. Divisional games are always close, aren’t they?
