What the Pick Data Says About Week 3
Guys, is it really that hard to pick one winner each week?! There was more carnage in Survivor in Week 2, as we saw 55.8% of all Survivor entries get knocked out. 49% of those entries were gone on Sunday thanks to a combination of the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, and Dallas Cowboys, with the Eagles adding another 6% in their disastrous Monday Night Football loss. With plenty of revival contests up on Splash, there's always another opportunity to win. Let's take a look at where the Splash community is leaning in Week 3. And maybe, just maybe, you all can fade the public this week!
Stay Hot, Vegas
Splash users loved what they saw out of the Raiders in Week 2 (unless you had Baltimore in Survivor) as they're currently the most-picked team in Week 3 for Survivor coming in with 21.4% of the picks. After a lackluster Week 1 against the Chargers, Vegas seemed to figure it out against a superior opponent in Week 2. This may be a case of 'what have you done for me lately', but when you're looking at their Week 3 opponent, it's hard not to use the Raiders. On paper, this week's matchup against the Panthers is the easiest game that the Raiders will have all season. The Panthers franchise is in complete disarray, as head coach Dave Canales announced they would be benching second-year QB Bryce Young in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. The Red Rocket could provide a much-needed boost to the Panthers offense, but let's be honest, they're still a bad football team. The Raiders faithful should be fired up in their home stadium after a huge win and should make things tough for Carolina. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention that the most-picked teams in Week 1 and Week 2 lost, but hey, that's a risk you might be willing to take!
A JerryWorld Coin Flip
The closest Pick'Em matchup comes in the Cowboys-Ravens matchup. The Ravens are currently getting 54.7% of picks on the road compared to 45.3% for the Cowboys. Both teams are coming off embarrassing losses, though the Dallas loss looks like it's holding more weight for Splash pickers. The once-mighty Cowboys defense got gashed every which way against the Saints. Derek Carr had his way with the secondary through the air and Alvin Kamara ran right through the defensive line all game long. The Ravens are currently -1.5 on the road, and Splash pickers are leaning slightly toward Baltimore to cover the spread and get back on track with a win.
The Browns are Back*
It couldn't have possibly gotten any worse for the Browns in Week 2. They managed to pull off a hard-fought win against the Jaguars and get in the win column in the 2024 season. Deshaun Watson showed didn't exactly light it up, but he showed flashes of his old self and was good enough to lead their offense to a victory. The main difference between Week 1 and Week 2 for Cleveland was their defense. It looked like the Browns defense of last season, as they caused problems for Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars all game long. Looking at Week 3, Splash pickers are banking on the Cleveland defense to wreak havoc on a struggling Giants offense. The Browns are getting 15.8% of picks across Splash in Survivor contests, good for the third-most across the platform.
Oh No, Bo
Sean Payton's hand-picked QB of the future for Denver is off to a rocky start, to say the least. Bo Nix already has 4 interceptions across two games, touting a lowly 59.7 completion percentage, and a 51.0 passer rating. That's not exactly what Sean Payton had in mind when he 'tricked' the Vikings into drafting JJ McCarthy so he could land Nix as his QB1. Splash pickers have seen enough from Nix and the Broncos to make their call in Pick'Em contests this week, with only 6.6% of users taking the Broncos to cover +6.5 on the road against the 2-0 Buccaneers. The Bucs have had an impressive start to the season, dicing up the Commanders in Week 1 and winning a tough road game in Detroit in Week 2. Splash pickers are confident that they'll continue to roll at home against Denver.
