What the Pick Data Says About Week 7
Finally, a normal Survivor week! Splash pickers made it through Week 6 relatively unscathed, with just 17% of entries getting eliminated. The historically brutal start to the season slowed down, with favorites last week going 10-3-1, a recipe for a successful Survivor week. With plenty of elite matchups in Week 7, there’s plenty to choose from in Survivor and Pick’Em contests. Let’s take a look at where the public is leaning.
Bills, Bills, Bills
The Bills are sitting pretty atop the AFC East standings after a narrow Monday Night Victory against the Jets. Things get considerably easier in Week 7, as the Bills head back to Buffalo to host Will Levis and the flailing Titans. Josh Allen will have a new weapon for this week’s game, as the Bills traded for former Browns WR1 Amari Cooper. Cooper will add a ton of value to the Bills passing game, as they have lacked a true number-one receiver after the departure of Stefon Diggs. Splash Survivor pickers are believers in the new-look Bills offense, with 19% of users backing them in Survivor contests, good for the most-picked team in Week 7.
Heavyweight QB Battle
Two of the best young QBs in the league are set to face off in Week 7 when the Texans head to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers. Jordan Love has the Packers at 4-2, which is good enough for dead last (yes, dead last) in the ultra-competitive NFC North. That makes nearly every game from now on a must-win, even a non-division game like this one. Splash pickers are confident in Love and the Packers taking down CJ Stroud and the Nico Collins-less Houston Texans, with 61% of the picks in Pick’Em contests going Green Bay’s way.
Battle of the Bottom
We’d like to apologize to the good people of London for sending over the Jaguars and Patriots as representatives of the NFL for the final London game of this season. Even with both teams’ immense struggles this season, Splash Survivor pickers are turning to this game in surprising numbers for their picks this week. 12% of users are backing the Jaguars in Survivor contests to beat the Patriots across the pond. We’ll never critique anyone for their picks, but really? The Jaguars?! We know how bad the Pats have been this season, but the Jaguars have been just as bad, if not worse at times! We’ll hold our breath until Sunday morning, but there’s plenty of time to change those picks.
Super Bowl Rematch
The defending champion Chiefs head to Santa Clara in a Super Bowl LVIII rematch. The Chiefs are somehow firing on all cylinders despite a host of injuries on both sides of the ball, while the 49ers are struggling by their standards, sitting at 3-3 atop the NFC West. Splash pickers are torn on this game in their Pick’Em contests, with 53% of users rolling with the defending champs compared to 47% to the Niners at home. Call it a revenge game, just another week, or the game of the season, the line shows this game should be close. Currently, the line on Splash has the 49ers as 1.5-point favorites, setting us up for a competitive Super Bowl rematch.
