How to Earn Over $1K This College Football Bowl Season
After a season full of drama, upsets, Heisman candidates rising and falling, and Michigan once again beating Ohio State, bowl season is upon us. College football’s best will compete for some of the most unique prizes and trophies in all of sports (looking at you, Duke’s Mayo Bowl), and four teams will compete for the coveted National Championship. On Splash, you can compete right along with them. There’s no mayonnaise up for grabs, but you can win some cold, hard cash competing in and hosting NCAAF Bowl Pick X contests. With the right strategy and promotion, you can earn well over $1K with the Splash Sports rewards system. Let’s break down how to do it.
Step 1: Create Your Commissioner Channel
Start your journey as a commissioner on Splash by creating your commissioner channel. After creating your account, navigate to the Commissioner Channel tab to get started.
Select Your Sports Interests
Begin by choosing your preferred sports leagues, including NFL, PGA, NBA, NCAAF, and NCAA. This selection tailors your channel to attract like-minded players on Splash.
Brand Your Channel
Customize your channel with unique logos and headers to make it stand out. A strong brand identity can attract more participants to your contests.
Choose Your Contests
Decide which contests you are most interested in. Our current options include Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), Survivor, and Pick X contests, each offering different gameplay and strategies.
Step 2: Create Your Contest
Select NCAAF Bowl Pick X
For the college football bowl season, choose the NCAAF Bowl Pick X contest. This popular format on Splash is now available for college football after previously launching ahead of the NFL season.
Game Groupings and Weighted Scoring
With our Bowl Pick X format, we’ve divided all of the bowl games into different groupings. As the commissioner, you have the ability to select from these pre-grouped bowl games and determine which groups you want your contest to pick, including the ability to exclude certain games from a grouping. You can also set the number of picks per slate from a pre-selected number, allowing users to only pick a certain amount of games per slate. This allows you to tailor your contest to your audience, whether it’s a group of college football fanatics who want to pick every bowl game or the more casual fans who only tune into the Top 25.
New on Splash for Bowl Pick X is weighted scoring. You can set different point values from our pre-selected options for different game groupings, potentially making certain game groupings more important than others. This is a great option to put more emphasis and importance on some of the more competitive bowl games.
Customize Best Pick Options
We’re also introducing a “Best Pick” option where participants can earn extra points for a game of their choosing. As a commissioner, you set the value of the Best Pick, adding an extra layer of strategy to your contest.
Pro tip; don’t waste your Best Pick on your alma mater. They always let you down, don’t they?
Entry Fee and Contest Size
Determine the entry fee for your contest and decide on the size of the contest based on our pre-selected options. These factors are crucial in determining the potential earnings from your contest.
Name and Brand Your Contest
Give your contest a catchy name and brand it for easy recognition. This step is crucial for marketing your contest and attracting participants.

Step 3: Send Out Invites
Leverage Your Network
Utilize your connections including friends, family, coworkers, and your social media following. Personal networks can be a great starting point for building your contest audience.
Promote Your Contest
When you’ve tapped your friends, it’s time to open up your social media apps and create content for your followers. Creating content around your contests is one of the best ways to get people talking and competing on Splash. Make some bold predictions, target rival fanbases to pit them against each other in your contest, and drive people in through community and competition. Put your marketing hat on and create social media posts, blogs, or videos explaining the contest and its potential rewards. We’ve seen commissioners earn over $25K in rewards by promoting their contests through different content methods!
Target the Right Audience
Find your audience where they are most active. College football fans often frequent social media platforms and message boards. Tailor your messaging to your followers and meet them in these spaces, highlighting the opportunity to win cash and compete during college bowl season.
Step 4: Earn
New User Referrals
Earn $5 in rewards for every new user you bring onto Splash Sports. This incentive can add up quickly, especially if you have a large network. Remember that third cousin that you saw for the first time in five years this Thanksgiving? Time to see if they like college football!
Experiment with Multiple Contests
Don't limit yourself to just one contest. Try hosting multiple contests for different bowl game groups to maximize your earnings potential. Check out our Knowledge Center for more tips on how to maximize your Splash Sports reward earnings.
Conclusion
Much like coaches and teams are preparing for their last opponent of the college football season, you can use that same preparation to compete and earn rewards on Splash. With the right mix of planning and promotion, you can turn college football bowl season into a lucrative opportunity. Create your commissioner channel, spin up some NCAAF Bowl Pick X contests, and start winning!
